Sometimes I’m overwhelmed by the thoughts inside my head

Spinning round, ensnaring me in doubt and fear and dread

And then I hear a whisper, advising me to rest

For deeper than those worries, there’s a voice that knows what’s best

So I sit a while in stillness and watch the thoughts that spin

Allowing them their moment but not permitting them to win

I find that I can breathe again when I let thoughts come and go

And stay here in this moment as I watch them ebb and flow

With each new breath I welcome in more peace and harmony

Feeling lighter as I breathe out fear and negativity

Reconnected to the earth below and the sky above

I’m centred and at home once more, filled with gratitude and love
